St Johns Park Bowling Club was formed so that local people had the opportunity to play lawn bowls in their own community. Bowls have remained at the heart of the Club ever since.
St Johns Park Bowling Club had humble beginnings. In 1951, a meeting was held among a group of local men with a shared vision of having a bowling green in the area. They pooled their resources and with volunteer labour and donated materials, they slowly created a green and club house.
The Club has undergone major refurbishments and membership continues to flourish. Today, the Club employs over 200 people and boasts three bowling greens, Powerhouse Bowlers Bar & Lounge, Pavilion Poker Room, three dining options (Cranky Little Chef, Mama Chow and LÁffaire Cafe), Function Facilities, the Big Kahuna Sports Arena and a multi-level car park.
