2026 Balmain Holroyd Championship

In wonderful conditions last Saturday, the final of the Holroyd final took place between Tim (+5), and James (-8). It was the talk of the town and in crowd scenes, not seen since Ali did the rumble in the jungle, the bumper crowd were not disappointed. Once the singing of the national anthem, and the air force fly over was completed the game was started. Club President Peter Simms, was the marker. James came prepared to rumble and get the deficit back to square right from the first end. By end 6 he was back to zero only conceding one shot to Tim. As we would expect, Tim rallied with some strong ends, and, by end 18 it was level 12 all in a race to 31. Both bowlers were putting down some great bowls. James however, went for the jugular and starved Tim of ends, surging forward. It was a great demonstration of accurate bowling. And so, James went onto to win 31-18 in 30 ends, and is the 2026 Holroyd Champion. Congratulations to both bowlers.
