Long Roll at St. Johns Park Bowling Club

Day Summary

St. Johns Park Bowling Club hosted round 5 of the Bowls Australia Long Roll with the game being evenly poised at 2-2 entering the clash between ‘Team Australia’ and ‘Team Rest of the World’. We were privileged with the presence of special guest, Steve Glasson OAM, to deliver the bowl for the clash along side Adoni Wichman-Rairoa. Steve provided the toss, which was won by ‘Team Australia’, opting to send in ‘Rest of the World’ to have first look.

‘Team Australia’ lined up with Terry Ryan, Lorraine Bryant and Jackaroo Brianna Smith, coming up against ‘Rest of the World’ in Hank Sato (Japan), Adoni Wichman-Rairoa (Cook Islands) and Natasha Russell (New Zealand). All being St. Johns Park Bowling Club members showcasing the clubs wide range of talent from all over the world.

It was all about ‘Team Australia’ from the first bowl, providing a clinical straight sets victory with the scores identical in both sets 7-5, featuring some skillful play from the Aussies handing them a 3-2 lead moving forward in the Long Roll journey. All in all, a fantastic celebration of culture and diversity amongst our members who came in Pennant Uniform or clothing representing their heritage.
